Benefit Gimme Brow Review

I gave into the hype. Like I seriously fell for this product as soon as I saw it, I read so many posts on this and absolutely loved the look it gave. So naturally, the first time I saw it in Boots I had to have it. The make-up artist at the Benefit counter was really lovely and really helpful, she kindly applied Gimme Brow, as soon as I saw how easily and quickly it went on and how beautiful it looked on I knew that I'd be taking it home with me.
I've got the darker of the two colours, medium/deep, it genuinely looks so good on. It looks really natural, makes your brows look crazy thick and just all out amazing. I've tried pencils and powders and I never seemed to like the way it looked on. I'm a girl of convenience and for me spending ages on one part of your face, just isn't worth it for me. Gimme Brow is perfect for me. Its so quick to apply and I don't really think its possible to make a huge mistake with it.
From what I've gathered, from both the Benefit girl at the counter and from what was said on QVC, Gimme Brow is a fibre gel that not only grabs your brow hair but it also adheres to the skin, creating the look of naturally full brows. From what I understood, the fibre gel is also used in a lot of mascaras to grab smaller lashes, also I believe that this is the only brow product on the market with fibre gel.
The gel grabs even the smallest of hairs, hairs that you may not even have noticed you have! For me this is crazy good on the front of my brows that are rather sparse, it gives the appearance of them being really quite thick and dark. Hello power brow.
I don't think my brows have ever looked so good.
You could easily apply this on the go, and I think this will be finding its way to university with me on days where I've not had enough time to apply it at home. Its completely waterproof, so no need to worry about it smudging across your face - great for me on days when I'm running late and sprinting to the train station. When the gel is applied you don't even notice that its there, unlike some brow gels that can feel a bit hard.
The tube seems a little small for £17.50 but I'm hoping it lasts quite awhile. The packaging isn't anything special, unlike the majority of Benefits products. Its a pretty basic little tube with small polka dots on it, simple and fairly cute, I think more effort was put into the box it came in packaging wise.
I have to say I really love this, I've not had it for overly long but I have to say its become a firm favourite. Gimme Brow, gimme gimme.

Whats your go to brow product?

Top 5 | Lipsticks

Recently I've been wearing a few different colours than I usually do, so I thought I would share the five lipsticks that I've really been loving recently. Lipstick used to be the thing I would buy most often, but recently I've been trying to streamline my collection a lot more so I've not been buying nearly as many - shopping my stash as it were.
First up is my MAC So Chaud lipstick. Now this is a lipstick that up until as few weeks ago I'd neglected, its a very spring/ summer colour so I put it away for the winter. Now, though the sun is beginning to shine and the weather is warming up so it means breaking out the prettier brighter colours. This was the first MAC lipstick I ever got and I adore it, in the summer its just the most perfect colour. The smell of it is also really lovely, I can't quite describe what the smells like though. Even though its matte it doesn't feel drying on the lips and I have to admit I adore the way it looks and feels on the lips, I also think it makes my teeth look a fair bit whiter than they actually are.
Next is my much loved, all year round favourite, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Romantic. Just a lovely red, nothing fancy or overly bright. I love the minty smell, although I know some people don't like it very much. Perfect for everyday wear, and really easy to touch up during the day. This is probably my most reached for lip product that I own.
Another of my loves recently is another of my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, this one is in the colour Crush. I would describe this as maybe being a pink toned purple. When you apply it I find that it goes on a fairly dark purple, and throughout the day goes a lovely pink colour. I have to say I really do just love this colour and I have no idea why it took me so long to get it! Shame on me really.
The final two colours that that I've been absolutely loving are nudes. Me? Wearing a nude lip? What has happened? The first nude if one of the Maybelline Colour Whispers in Lust for Blush. I adore this. So easy to apply, and is definitely a your lips but better colour. Its love.
Finally, my Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Lovelight. This has only recently become a huge love of mine, but I adore wearing it! I won this in a giveaway a couple of months ago, and I'm so so so happy with it. I don't know why I never buy myself nude lipsticks, because the two I've been given I utterly adore. The colour is a pinky nude, with what I think is a slight hint of sparkle in it. The formula feels really moisturising on the lips, colour lasting wise I'm not sure as I can't really tell when I'm in need of a touch up, but hopefully soon I'll try more of these lipsticks.

What lipsticks have you been loving recently?

The Blogger Made Me Buy It TAG

Another TAG I've been utterly loving recently is the Blogger Made Me Buy It TAG, its such a brilliant one to read and I thought that I'd give me answers to the questions!

1) Who are your most influential bloggers?  Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?
I  have to say that this was difficult to narrow down to just a few but the ones I decided on were Miss Make-up Magpie, The Sunday Girl and Essie Button. All three of them leave me lusting after the majority of products that they post. Essie Button has such amazing reviews and if more of the American products she posts were easily available in the UK then I would definitely have purchased everything she talks about. I also really love Gh0st Parties for skincare reviews - she really knows her stuff.

2) Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?
I think for me it depends on the price of the product. If I see a review of something cheaper and really love the look of it then I'll shortly after buy it, The Seventeen Phwoarr Paint is a prime example of that. The Sunday Girl posted about it, I went and bought it that week. If on the other hand the product was on the more expensive side then I would most definitely take my time and read a few reviews before setting my mind on getting what ever it was.

3) What is your most favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
Ooh, probably the Rimmel Apocalips - which have now I think about it, not been used in awhile - when all the big bloggers raved about them before they were released I was practically drooling over them. I also adore the Seventeen Phwoarr Paint - I probably would never have bought it if it hadn't been for The Sunday Girl - it is probably my favourite concealer ever, maybe even better than the Collection one?

4) What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
Urm... I can't actually think of any stand out things. As far as I can think I don't think there is anything I hate that I've bought because of a blogger.

5) Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blogs.
Recently... hmmm. I bought another of the Revlon Just Kissable Balm Stains(just the original ones, only got one because of everyone talking about the new ones) , Bourjois Colourboost lip crayon, Clinique Neutral Territory palette, Urban Decay Naked Palette (I eventually got one after wanting one for ages) and Bourjois Colour Edition shadows.

6) Have you ever given into blogger hype?  If so, which hype?
Baby Lips. Pure and simple, the first time I saw them in Boots my friend had to stop me from buying all of them. I got all the coloured ones, I mean how could I have said no to a 3 for 2 on something that was £2.99. In hind sight I probably shouldn't have got as many as I did as they aren't overly great.

7) Have you ever avoided blogger hype?  If so, which hype?
All of the NARS limited edition items I've avoided getting - despite desperately wanting them all. I've also been really good in not getting the Naked 3 palette - although I now really want it - and the Smashbox Full Exposure palette.

8) Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?
Most of the items I buy are bought after deciding that I'll love them due to reading blogger reviews. All the products I dislike slightly were probably bought after not reading any posts about.

Have you done this TAG?

Say hello to Daisy.

I'm an animal person through and through. Anything cute and fluffy and I probably love it. I've wanted another dog for the longest time, one that I can call my own. The trick was trying to convince my mum to let me get one. Her house an all that.
Somehow, recently though I managed to convince her to let me get one. So say hello to my new baby Daisy the Toy Poodle. I picked her up on Sunday at 11am, thanks to my mums lovely friend who drove us there to get her. I woke up so early because I was super excited to get her! It was like the excitement you feel on Christmas morning when your younger.
As soon as I saw her I knew that I wanted to take her home, the other dogs the breeder had were so lovely and cute as heck.
In the drive home she was pretty restless, whined a fair bit - but I expected she would since she's now with out her mum and brothers. When we got her home we introduced her to our other dog Holly - who is like 3 if not 4 times her size. It's safe to say she was a little scare at first, but it didn't take long for her to get her confidence.
She is the sweetest little bundle of fluff, but I think she'll become quite feisty. Over the last few days shes really come out of her shell and I'm completely and utterly in love with her. The first night I got her she slept the entire night, but the second night she kept me up all night and I eventually caved and let her sleep in my bed. She is super sweet, a bit clumsy and seems a bit stupid. But hopefully she'll get a bit brighter soon. Heres just a few pictures of her to finish off this post.

Nails I've been loving | NOTD

I never used to be the kind of person that was bothered with painting their nails - for me it was just a pain in the butt. It took way to long to do and was more of a hassle than what it was actually worth. Recently though, I've been loving painting my nails. All be it they do chip pretty easily, meaning I do need to repaint my nails daily. Could someone please recommend me a really insanely good top coat? It gives me something to do when I'm bored and stops me snacking as much.

Every time I paint my nails I always start by filing my nails to a shape that I like, if they aren't already a good enough shape for me. I'll then use my little mini O.P.I Nail Envy as a base coat to stop my nails staining, and to help strengthen them. My little mini bottle is almost empty though and I think I'll be needing to get a new strengthener soon. This takes almost no time to dry, I do leave it to dry for a few minutes before I apply the colour - just to make sure that there is going to be no smudging. 99% of the time I smudge my nails.
So once a sutible amount of time has gone by, I'll apply the colour I've been loving. And for me just now that colour is the horribly chipping Nails Inc in Baker Street. I'm not sure why, but for some reason this colour just chips so easily. The other Nails Inc colours I have don't chip nearly as badly as this one does. But I love the colour too much to care about the chips. Two coats of polish are usually perfectly fine, but occasionally I'll pop a 3rd coat on - just to make the colour look a billion times better.
To finish my nails off I'll use a top coat. The one I've been using recently is the Essie Rock Solid one, I quite like it. It dries really quickly and leaves your nails looking really glossy.
So there you have it, the nails I've been loving recently.

Blogger love TAG

I love a good TAG post, like I really love a TAG. This is a TAG that I've really loved reading so thought that I would do one as well - maybe someone would like to read mine as much as I love reading other peoples?

What was the first blog you ever came across?

I first came across blogs about 3 or 4 years ago when I became very interested in make-up and such like - I probably didn't actually realise that I was reading blogs at the time, but y'know who does at first? The first blog I found was Zoella and Sprinkle of Glitter, I probably searched some random item for a review and clicked on them. I still read them now, but I don't think they post as regularly as they used to but I still love their posts.

Favourite blog reads

EEEEEH! There are so many to pick from. I love The Sunday Girl, Make-up Pixi3, Miss Make-up Magpie, Hello October! There are waay to many to pick from - I also love reading Colours And Carousels, The Black Pearl Blog and Welcome to Kiss and Make-up.

Best blogging friend

I talk to a few bloggers fairly regularly and I'd love to call them my friends ( I hope you don't mind if I call you my friends), they are Ella, Rena and Charlotte. They are so lovely, have amazing blogs, are lovely to talk to and hopefully one day I'll be able to meet them all. :)

Name a blog that enables your purchases

So many blogs enable me into buying things! Essie Button always makes me want to book a flight and go to Sephora for all the amazing American beauty bits she always raves about. Hello October always managed to get me lusting after products - most recently I bought Cliniques Neutral Territory palette after reading her post. Miss Make-up Magpie is another blog that I've bought many a product because of. There are seriously so many and if I was to keep listing I'd be here for awhile.

5 blogs everyone should be reading!

Just 5?! How am I supposed to do that? I think everyone should be reading.... Hello October (I've mentioned Suzie so often in this post!), Welcome To Kiss and Make-up ( Rena is definitely a firm favourite), Miss Make-up Magpie (Gemma writes seriously lust worthy products, prepare to spend all your pennies), The Black Pearl Blog (beautiful looks and amazing reviews), Wonderful You (lovely beautiful outfits, makes me jealous).

Your favourite way to read blogs

Definitely bloglovin'. Its just such an easy way to keep up to date with all the posts and make sure you don't miss one. I follow over 200 blogs ( I know some people follow a lot more) and bloglovin' helps me keep track on what posts I liked and what ones I've still to read.

Bloggers that inspire you

I'm not really sure if I'm being honest. I suppose all the blogs I read inspire me in some form or another. This is such a rubbish answer :///

Favourite blog design/look

Ooh - now this ones a tad difficult to answer, I really like the look of Miss Make-up Magpie - her header is really cool, makes me a bit jealous :) I also really like Hello-October, its simple but looks really nice.

What is your favourite thing about blogging?

I love the creative aspect of it, my university course is in absolutely no way creative so my blog for me is a way to express myself, share what I love and get a little bit creative. I really love the whole writing process and taking pictures for the posts - I would really love to take a photography course, I think it would be really interesting and be crazy fun.

Name a blogger you would most like to see write a book in the future!

The only person I can think of that I'd like to read a book of is Estee she is really funny and I really think her book would be brilliant - if she ever wrote one that is.

Shop Dixi Jewellery

Shop Dixi, just like Black Tied, is a website that I've always wanted to buy from. I have no idea why its taken me so long to actually make a purchase but I have now and lets just say I'm in love with it.
I got was this beautiful ring, its one of their Unicorn Tear rings - this one was the cheaper one and I think I might have to go back and get another one. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to wear it, forefinger ring finger. I'm undecided. But it looks super pretty and as soon as I can figure out how to wear it then I'm sure I'll never take it off.

Perfume Collection

A fair while ago I took pictures thinking that I would do a perfume collection, I think those pictures have sat in their little folder for long enough. I like having a nosey into anyone's collections, and a perfume collection for me is like one of the best things I can read. So maybe people would like to read mine? Its now time for me to show the few perfumes I have and to fail extremely badly at describing the scents.

The oldest member of my perfume collection is my Nina by Nina Ricci perfume - there is almost nothing left in this but I can't bear (wrong word?) to part with it since it was my favourite, and possibly my first, perfume. It smells lovely and sweet and just generally perfect.

Maybe my second oldest perfume? Rihannas perfume, I'm not really sure how to describe the smell but it smells really nice, the bottle though I think is the selling point for it - the bottle is super pretty.

I think this is the only perfume I've ever bought with my own money and I've barely used any of it. I got this in the sales ages ago, I somehow managed to find the 100ml for like £20. Its very sweet smelling, I like it but it always seems to get left behind in my collection somehow.

This is probably the cutest perfume I own. Harajuk Lovers Super G. I mean look at it! It's got a super hero on the top of it! My friend got me this for my birthday a few years ago after me constantly smelling it and looking at it. Its a very young and girly scent, maybe not what I'm looking for now, but I will spray this on every so often.

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck. Smells and looks pretty. I don't really know what else to say - I am utterly terrible at describing scents.

Another birthday present from my friend, this was basically just released when she gave it to me. Katy Perry Killer Queen smells so lovely and the bottle - need I say how lovely it looks? I mean look at it! The bottle is such an unusual shape and looks super cool!

Newest best and favourite perfume in my collection. Marc Jacobs Daisy. It smells so goooood! I somehow managed to scratch a bit of the name off the bottle - that makes me very sad :((( The bottle is beautiful and so is the smell. I'm sort of scared to use it though since its so expensive to replace easily.

Whats your favourite perfume?

How Much Is Your Face Worth | TAG

I've seen this TAG floating around for quite awhile, and I love reading a lot of them and found them really interesting as you get to see how much people spend on their make-up and what it is they use on a daily basis. It kind of doubles up as a daily make-up post.

= £47.98

Thats a bit crazy... Almost £200 worth of make-up goes on my face every day! All the products I've put down are the ones I've been using basically every single day recently, its a routine that I've been really enjoying and will continue to do.

Theres a couple of girls that I'd love to see do this - Zoe, RenaCharlotte and Ella, if you lovely ladies haven't done this then I've love to see what you write!

Maybelline Brow Drama Review

I've had this for a fair few months - basically since shortly after it was released. I bought this when I decided that I wanted to do more with my brows, this along with my Lord and Berry Brow pencil are my go to brow products, they really help to make my brows look slightly better. I don't tend to use this on its own, I more so use it as a setting thing.
I wasn't really sure colour wise how this would be, since I think there was only a few different colours to pick. The colour I have is Dark Brown, I think it is a pretty good tint for my fairly dark brows. I think that anyone could get away with using the Maybelline Brow Drama mascaras because the tint isn't overly dark, so you don't need to worry about looking silly. Like I said before - I don't tend to wear this on its own, so the colour of the brow mascara isn't a huge issue for me. This doesn't leave your brows feeling hard or crusty, which is always a plus. I find that when I use this after I've pencilled in my brows that they stay where they are meant to and don't budge - even when dancing like a loon in a club getting hot and sweaty. Its just brilliant - at least I think it is.
Packaging wise, it isn't anything overly special - the design is pretty basic - and does look pretty much like that of a mascara. The brush however, is unlike any I have ever seen. I think that's what attracted me to it, the wand is quite unusual and it looked pretty darn cool. The ball shaped end to the brush is pretty neat(?), I think it grabs all the hairs in on my brows pretty well. Making it easy to keep your eyebrows where they are meant to be. I know a fair few people don't like the brush but I find it works really well for me.
If your looking for something to use on your brows, why not give this a shot? For £4.99 its really really good and completely worth what you pay for it.
