Glasgow Foods | Smoak

I buy a lot of Groupon food deals. And I mean a lot. I find it means I get to try places I probably wouldn't otherwise have tried. And this time I found myself in Smoak. I'd passed by it a few times while in town but never actually thought to go in. The deal was pretty good, I think it was like £12 for a burger and fries for two? Sounds about right...
Smoak is located right in the heart of Glasgow in Royal Exchange Square. They have seating indoors and out, as it was such an oddly beautiful day in Glasgow when we visited the outside area was mobbed. Inside has quite an industrial type feel to it, all woody and sort of westerny - my use of words is amazing aint it? They have a great selection of drinks from the usual sort drinks to milkshakes and even ice teas (they had sold out by the time we got their though, boo!)
The burgers themselves though were lovely, I went for the UMAMI 2.0. It was an amazing juicy burger with mushrooms, bacon, cheese and rocket - I opted for no onions as I'm no a fan. The chips are amazing too! I did that horrific thing of putting the sauce all over the chips - sorry not sorry.
David loved his burger too, he got a different one from me but I can't remember what one he picked, also he bit into it as soon as it came so no pictures of that one were obtained.
Smoak was really good though, prices were decent and the food was delicious. I'm sure at some point David and I will be back.

My Protein Active Woman Sample Box

Hullo, so todays post is a wee bit fitness-y. I've become a bit of a fitness nut recently, and because of this I've been trying new foods and new fitness brands. I've used My Protein before, but I hadn't in a really long time. They had a deal on recently for 40% off so I decided to put a wee order in. I ended up getting Rocky Road Cookies and this wee box, the cookies are glorious but we're here today for the sample box. It's not the usual type of box product I talk about, usually its latest in beauty or glossyboxes that would feature. Today though we're being all fit and healthy with a fitness box. I like things like this as they give you the chance to try lots of different products rather than buying a full size of one thing, potentially not liking it and then getting stuck with it. Not ideal. So when I saw this wee box online I decided to add it into my basket, I didn't really know anything about the box when I bought it but it wasn't too expensive (£16 full price) and I'm just kinda an impulse buyer.
When the box came though I was super impressed with it. Its got so much in it, and theres loads of variety. The Active Women Sample Box contains 9 different products ranging from a shaker bottle to protein powders, from cookies to desserts. Theres loads of choice and even some vegan options.
There were two of the My Protein Active Women Protein Desserts, one is chocolate truffle flavoured and and the other is velvet vanilla flavour.  I've tried the Velvet vanilla one and it wasn't too bad actually, although the whole sachet definitely felt like too much.
There were two vegan blends, one is pineapple and coconut flavoured and the other is apple caramel. The pineapple and coconut flavoured one isn't my cup of tea, so i probably won't be trying that one anytime soon.
There was also two sachets of the Active Women Diet Blend in Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Toasted Marshmallow flavours. Both of these flavours sound amazing - cant wait to try them both!
There was also a tub of the Active Women Collagen & Coconut with Vitamin C tablets. These are basically just tablets to help keep your skin beautiful and healthy, I've been taking them for a few days and although not much has changed although I think my skin is not quite as dry as it usually is.
A wee shaker cup as well to shake all the new proteins in - can you ever have too many shaker cups?
NEW SNACKS! I love snacks, there also a honey and vanilla tea bag too. The High Protein Chocolate is amazing! Utterly amazing. There are also two skinny protein cookies too, Cranberry & White choc and Berry & dark choc. I've tried other my protein cookies and they are really good so I'm looking forward to trying these ones.

Have you tried anything from My Protein before? What are your favourite proteins?

22nd Birthday Wishlist

Its almost birthday time! Birthday month, but also exam month - I actually have a exam on my birthday, WAAAH! So in order to cheer myself up about that tragic fact I thought I'd make a wee wishlist for my birthday. Some of these are of much higher value than others but all still items I've had my eye on for awhile.
So the top row is all quite pricey, bottom row is much more affordable.
The HP Sprocket is something I've wanted for awhile just for the convenience of printing your photos then and there, its fairly pricey at £99.99. But it looks amazing.
The Fitbit Alta HR is something else I've had my eye on for awhile, they start from £129.99 and prices go up depending on the colour. With me going to the gym loads now I feel the need to get one of these is even higher now.
I don't wear rings ever, but the Princess Ring from Pandora is too cute and something I've wanted for ages.
POLE CLOTHING!!! I've already got a pair of the WEPDA shorts but I fancy more of their shorts and their new tops that they have just announced - everything looks lovely.
CHIP MUG! The Primark one is £5 and is so adorable, the Disney one is £14.95 and although its nice I think the Primark one is slightly nicer.
Gym meme tops! These are brilliant, I've been following their page on instagram for awhile and love the designs, maybe soon I'll actually end up owning some of their tops. Their tops change so often and once they sell out ffhats it, no restocking or anything, but they have loooooads on their site.

August Goals

I've been such a terrible blogger, so sorry I've been so MIA just been so busy with work, gym and university that I've legit had no time to get anything up. Many apologies. This month should be better as work is dying down - no more 36 hour weeks for this part time gal - and although my resits are still to happen I shouldn't be as busy (I hope).

So in June I decided to get organised, pay off my debt, get active and sort my hair out. I managed half of these and its not even the good half. I'm worse off financially than I have been for awhile and I'm still not organised as much as I wanted to be for my upcoming exams (SOS!) Good news is my hair is all one colour and I now go to the gym at least 4 times a week and pole once a week.

So in August I want to try get rid of at least a quarter of my credit card debt. So basically I need to make sure I've around £300 to put into the card. My only saviour is that student loans are back soon and that will - rather ironically - wipe out all my debt completely. Odd that I'm using a loan to pay another loan....

This one is a need rather than a want, and this need is to be so super organised for university and get my smert hat on so that I don't end up crying over failing my exams and getting exiled from university... So lets get these projects done and notes written out, I'll get dez past papers aced and be a glorious second time passer. WOOT

I'd like to get out and go for a walk daily, like at least half an hour each day. Theres some days where I legit go to work/ the gym and thats it. Doggo will love me for taking her on extra walks each day and it could be an excuse to visit new parks. I don't care if its raining, I'm gonna get my coat on and go a wander.

Final one - I promise - I want to do more with my blog, and my youtube. I miss doing them both so bloody much and this year I'm going to get back into it again properly! I promise!

What about you guys? What are your goals for the month?
